1-31: Celebrate Freedom! - Celebrate Freedom is a discount program for active military, the reserves, the National Guard, retired military personnel as well as military veterans, law enforcement, firefighters and emergency medical services during the entire month of August. To receive this discount you must bring your ID to Pigeon Forge Welcome Center.

Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales tm - All summer long visitors can meet characters, hear mountain music and learn about the wildlife and plant life of the Smoky Mountains on the streets of Gatlinburg. Storytellers, musicians and cloggers perform at different locations along the Parkway every evening during this second annual event!

8-9:  Southern Nationals Association Battle of the Trucks Show. 

8-10: 5th Annual StringTime in the Smokies - Some of the country's finest bluegrass musicians pay tribute to the music to the Smoky Mountains with free concerts in Patriot Park.

28 – Sept. 2: The Moving Wall – A temporary display of The Moving Wall, a replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial, will be at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation and open at noon daily.

SEPTEMBER 2008

1 – 6: Sevier County Fair – Traditional hometown fair with a midway, carnival rides, games, contests and concerts at Sevier County Fairgrounds. (865) 453-0770

1-30: Old Fashioned Hayrides - Enjoy a unique hayride with family and friends through downtown Gatlinburg. As fall begins in the Smoky Mountains, take this fun-filled hayride and enjoy breath-taking views of our beautiful mountains. Departure is from traffic light #6 at Mountain Mall from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, leaving approximately every 45 minutes.

2: October 5 Ripley's Aquarium Gift With Purchase at Tanger Five Oaks – Customers who spend $ 150 same day receipts will receive a free adult ticket to Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies..

12-October 31: 11th Annual Pigeon Forge Harvest Festival - During our 11th Annual Pigeon Forge Harvest Festival, you will find delightful displays constructed from pumpkins, cornstalks, mums and other fall flowers. And as always, there is sure to be plenty of music.

18: 10th Annual Taste of Autumn - Sample signature dishes from the area's finest restaurants. Enjoy live jazz entertainment provided by Karen Johns, live auction with a cash bar. Proceeds benefit United Way of Sevier County. Doors of the Gatlinburg Convention Center open at 5 p.m.

18-20: Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival - Experience great bluegrass music at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Camping hook-ups are available. For tickets call toll free 1-888-377-9888.

19 – Oct. 31: Smoky Mountain Harvest Festival – Enjoy the sites, sounds and smells of a Smoky Mountain Harvest. Leaf looking, special events, shows, shopping and attractions make this a great time of year to visit Sevierville. For more information call 1-888-SEVIERVILLE.

3 - 4: Robert Tino's Smoky Mountain Homecoming – Located at the Robert Tino Gallery and Farm off Hwy 66, next to Buddys BarBQ.  Smoky Mountain Homecoming unveils Robert Tino's latest mountain print.This event will feature two days of art, bluegrass music, story telling, mountain crafts and displays, kids games, petting zoo and pony rides, kids art classes, antiques, and a farmers market.  Admission is free.  (865) 453-6315.
